Dasha Shishkin
Dasha Shishkin was born in Moscow in 1977. After studying at the Rietveld Academy of Arts, Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam, she received her BFA from the New School for Social Research, New York in 2001 and her MFA from Columbia University in 2006. She lives and works in New York.
Shishkin has shown extensively since 2001, and internationally since 2004. She has participated in group exhibitions such as Greater New York 2005 at P.S.t Contemporary Art Center in New York, Gegenwartig: Geschichtenerzahler at the Hamburg Kunsthalle in 2005, The Compulsive Line: Etching 1900 to Now at the Museum of Modern Art, New York in 2006, and Dream &Trauma: Works from the Dakis Joannou Collection at the Kunsthalle Wien in 2007. Her work is in the public collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich, and the Hamburg Kunsthalle. She is represented by the Zach Feuer Gallery in New York.
