Salon du Musée to Exhibit All Denver Art Museum Genres

DENVER (July 10, 2010) - Salon d'Arts, Inc. announced today the new format for its signature exhibition, Salon du Musée. Following last year's success, the Salon will again be held in the Denver Art Museum (DAM) on October 16, 2010. The event will feature artworks that reflect the diverse genres represented in the museum's collection, including: Architecture, Design & Graphics; Asian Art; Modern & Contemporary Art; Native Arts; Painting & Sculpture; Photography; New World; Textile Art; and Western American Art.

With works selected by the Denver Art Museum's curators, the exhibition and auction will feature vetted and significant artworks from each genre. Each department curator will invite three artists to each submit three works resulting in an exhibition of more than 80 one-of-a-kind works ranging in value from $1,000 up to $25,000. The exhibition is a unique opportunity to understand the breadth of the museum's collections represented through new objects from each genre.

"The evolution of Salon du Musée into a celebration of DAM's renowned collections and departments is an exciting development," said the museum's Frederick and Jan Mayer Director Christoph Heinrich. "With the Salon exhibition featuring works that represent the range of the museum's collections, we have the opportunity to introduce Salon du Musée guests to all the museum has to offer."

"Salon du Musée will feature internationally renowned artists, many of whom are featured in the DAM's permanent collection. Unlike the works in the museum's collection, the new works in Salon du Musée will be available for sale," stated the Salon du Musée Founder and contributing curator Natalie Rekstad-Lynn. "This is an exciting prospect for many attendees and potential collectors as many of the artists will be joining us at the event to talk about their work and inspiration."

The exhibition will be held from October 7th through October 16th with the artwork auctioned among hundreds of museum supporters at the lively Salon du Musée Soiree and Fine Art Sale on October 16th. The Soirée Presenting Sponsor is First Western Trust Bank, and the Presenting Sponsor of the Champagne Reception is Bistro Boys Catering, both long-term supporters of the exhibition. Event Chairs are Buck & Janelle Blessing.

Salon du Musée is modeled after European art salons of the late nineteenth century and serves as a public forum for promoting the exchange of ideas between artists and viewers. The Salon du Musée exhibition will be open to the public from October 7th through October 16th during regular museum hours.

Tickets are $75 for regular admission to the Soirée; patron tickets are $125, which includes a pre-event Champagne Reception; Elite tickets are $250 and include the Champagne Reception, Soirée, and post-event dinner featuring the artists at Palettes Restaurant located at the Denver Art Museum. Tickets can be purchased at Blacktie-Colorado.com after September 1. For more information, contact Vania Wong at 303-304-6204, vania.wong@yahoo.com.
