The three-day affair begins April 18 with an invitational fine art exhibition and sale at the Colorado History Museum. In addition, there will be artists workshops and demonstrations and a patron reception at Restaurant Kevin Taylor on the ballet's opening night.

AFI's founder and executive director, Natalie Reckstad, says she is overwhelmed by the enthusiasm the event is generating.

Already, more than $50,000 in sponsorship support has been pledged by North American Title; Wells Fargo; Scott Lynn of HBG Flatiron Structures; Liz Armstrong and Kathryn Ryan of the Colorado Ballet Auxiliary board; L&M Printing; the John Madden Co.; Gaylord and Kathryn Layton; Greenwood Athletic Club; and Mel's Restaurant and Bar. And, JohnstonWells giving $10,000 worth of public relations support.

The choice of hosts for the launch party could not have been more appropriate, for the Madden family's legacy includes the founding and continued support of such treasures as the Museum of Outdoor Arts and Colorado Business Committee for the Arts.

John and Marjorie's daughter, Cynthia Madden Leitner, son, J, and daughter-in-law, Linda Poletti, were co-hosts for the AFI fete. Quang Ho, Richard Schmid, Bill Starke, Kent Ullberg and Hollis Williford are among the artists invited to take part in the show.
