Colorado Ballet Company

The mission of the Colorado Ballet is to contribute to the quality of life in our community through the performance of major national and international dance works, the development of new choreography, and the nurturing of artistic expression. The Company provides top-quality entertainment and a wide variety of educational and outreach programs, fostering a greater understanding and appreciation for the art of dance.

The Colorado Ballet begain in 1961 as a ballet school founded by Lillian Covillo and Freidann Parker. Under the leadership of Artistic Director and CEO Martin Fredmann (a recipient of the prestigious Dance Magazine award) the organization has become one of the state’s most accomplished arts institutions. The Colorado Ballet has evolved to become nationally recognized as one of the premiere regional ballet companies (only five in the U.S. have reached this level of distinction). With a company of 30 professional dancers of national and international acclaim, 25 apprentice dancers, an expansive repertoire, the Academy of Colorado Ballet and scenery and costumes by noted designers, Colorado Ballet is a flourishing and acclaimed dance company.

The Joseph and Loretta Law Academy of Colorado Ballet

salon d' arts proceeds will also benefit The Joseph and Loretta Law Academy of Colorado Ballet. The primary goal of the Academy is to train and prepare students for careers in dance with Colorado Ballet or other professional companies. Through our comprehensive curriculum, the Academy is committed to developing each students’ ability to his or her highest potential. As the official school of the Colorado Ballet Company, the 40-year old Academy boasts a refined curriculum in the Russian technique, taught by a prestigious and highly experienced faculty. Students will learn ballet through the graded, classical approach known as the Vaganova Syllabus, as developed by one of history’s greatest teachers, Agrippina Jacoviean Vaganova (1879 - 1951). Rudolf Nureyev and Mikhail Baryshnikov are just two famous alumni of the Vaganova Syllabus.
