Walt Gonske Carmona - Spain
Walt Gonske
12" x 16" Oil on Canvas

ARTIST'S STATEMENT
"This past June I hooked up with a Kevin and Wanda McPherson painting workshop to Spain. Home base was in Sevilla, and every morning we would travel by bus to a different location to work. The village of Carmona was terrific. Stark whitewashed buildings all up and down the hilly terrain, with exciting compositions everywhere.

I'm finding it more important to convey something about myself in the work, and have it not all be about subject matter. And I try to express that through the paint itself. Each loaded brush stroke is a impulse recording my passion for the landscape."
