ARTIST'S STATEMENT
"I painted this directly at the last hour of light. The trick was to ignore the screaming electric blue sky that day held, because it robbed the pink of its color. Harmonizing the sky in blue grays from the colors below it; naturalized the sky and brightened the pink."
